Validaion

All new batches of Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) are carefully validated prior to approval for use in Rossix buffers and reagents. Approval of a new batch of BSA consists of the following:

Test as bulking agent – FVIII method
The BSA is tested as a bulking agent in a FVIII method. The stability and performance of sample and reagent solutions is evaluated.

Test as bulking agent – FVII method
The BSA is tested as a bulking agent in a FVII method. The stability and performance of sample and reagent solutions is evaluated.

Absence of proteas activity
The new batch is tested for absence of proteas activity by incubation with a chromogenic substrate with a broad selectivity.

Control of origin
Rossix requests documents which demonstrates the source of bovine plasma used for manufacturing of BSA to originate from countries shown to be free from TSEs affecting animals, including BSE and scrapie.
