Technochrom® Protein C (for Ceveron® alpha) is a Reagent Kit for chromogenic determination of protein C activity. The kit includes 3 standards, Protein C activator (Protac®), Protein C-substrate and Protein C buffer.

Protein C is activated by a specific activator and measured by its amydolytic activity on a specific chromogenic substrate.

  • 3 x 1ml Substrate PCa-2
  • 3 x 1ml Protein C Activator
  • 1 x 60ml Protein C Buffer
  • 3 x 1ml Standards (~0.25-1.25U/ml)
  • Assay linearity 0 -125%
  • 3 reference standards
  • High reagent stability
  • Excellent accuracy and precision
  • Economical use

Protein C is a vitamin K dependent serine protease which, when activated, inhibits coagulation by inactivating the clotting factors V/Va and VIII/VIIIa. Additionally, protein C has been shown to have profibrinolytic activity. Hereditary, heterozygous protein C deficiency has been found to be associated with an increased risk of venous thrombosis and hereditary, homozygous total protein C deficiency has been found in neonates with purpura fulminans. Reduced levels of protein C have been found in association with vitamin K deficiency and coumarin. Read More…
