The Ceveron Technochrom® C1-INH kit is a fully automated (bar-coded reagents) Chromogenic C1 Esterase Inhibitor Assay for use on the Ceveron® alpha analyzer.

For research use in hereditary angioedema (HAE). The C1-esterase inhibitor (C1-INH) is a regulatory protein that functions as an inhibitor of several serine proteases in the complement system, the kallikrein-kinin system, the coagulation cascade and in fibrinolysis.

ASSAY C1 INH ACTIVITY IN CONCENTRATES

  • Used for calibration of the International Standard for purified concentrate standard (for batch release testing of therapeutic products)

ASSAY C1 INH ACTIVITY IN PLASMA

  • Uses coagulation reference plasma calibrated against IS for plasma
  • Fully automated
  • Assay linearity 20 -120%
  • Simple test performance
  • Heparin insensitive
  • Excellent accuracy and precision

C1-inh is titrated against an excess of C1-esterase to form an inhibitory complex, and the residual C1-esterase activity is measured using a chromogenic substrate.

C1 INH Hereditary Angioedema

The C1 esterase inhibitor protein is a normal constituent of serum which functions as a serine proteinase inhibitor of the serpin family.

The C1 esterase inhibitor inhibits the complement proteases C1r and C1s, as well as the proteases Kallikrein, factor XIa, XIIa and plasmin of the blood clotting system.

The concentration of C1 esterase inhibitor protein is reduced to 10-30% of normal in patients with angioedema secondary to C1 esterase inhibitor deficiency (85% of patients with hereditary angioedema (HAE)); in 15% of patients with HAE, the concentrations of the inhibitor protein is normal but function is markedly reduced.
