Chromogenix Low Molecular Weight (LMW) Heparin Calibration Plasma

is for preparation of calibration curves for use in chromogenic heparin assays.

Reagents, Packaging, Storage and Stability

  • Calibration Plasma LMW Heparin 1: 4 x 1 ml vials (0.0 IU / ml) of a lyophilized powder of human plasma containing defined IU/mL of low molecular weight (LMW) heparin.
  • Calibration Plasma LMW Heparin 2: 4 x 1 ml vials (0.4 IU / ml) of a lyophilized powder of human plasma containing defined IU/mL of low molecular weight (LMW) heparin.
  • Calibration Plasma LMW Heparin 3: 4 x 1 ml vials (0.8 IU / ml) of a lyophilized powder of human plasma containing defined IU/mL of low molecular weight (LMW) heparin.

Unopened calibrators are stable until the expiration date shown on the vial when stored at 2-8°C. Stability after reconstitution: 24 hours at 20-25°C, or 14 days at 2-8°C in the original vial.

Lyophilized human plasma, prepared by addition of LMW heparin. Calibrated against the 1st International WHO standard (LMW heparin). For construction of calibration curves for use in chromogenic heparin assays.

Heparin is the most frequently used antithrombotic therapeutic drug. The biological activity of this sulfated glycosaminoglycan resides in its ability to accelerate (up to 2000-fold) the inhibitory effect of antithrombin (AT) on the coagulation proteases. The Level 1, 2 and 3 of Calibration Plasma LMW Heparin are prepared by means of a dedicated process and contain different concentration of LMW Heparin. Calibrators 1, 2 and 3 are intended for the assessment of calibration curve of the Heparin assay.
