What’s New at Diapharma?
STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Jessica Tuohy, Ph.D.
Scientific Product Manager
I grew up in Germany and moved to the United States with my family when I was fifteen. I received my B.A. from Middlebury College in Vermont and my Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Colorado Medical School. I was recruited to Vanderbilt University where I did some very early work on lipidomics with the LIPID MAPS consortium. However, I finally decided that I had lived in enough cold climates (even Nashville was too cold in the winter for me!) and I moved to San Diego where, yes, it’s in the 70’s and sunny almost every day. I have been very fortunate to work for DiaPharma for over twelve years – the first eleven as the territory manager for the West Coast and now as the Scientific Product Manager for our liver and kidney biomarker portfolio. I really enjoy working in this new field – it is exciting and fast moving! When I am not working I am busy with my two boys who are 7 and 9… and who are also fast moving! We have fun traveling together and they are picking up my love for snowboarding. We are hoping to add a four-legged friend to complete our family sometime this year.
